Paul (pictured front row, second left in the Vet's team against his other club, Sutton and Epsom) was at the Priory prep school from 1961 to 1966 along with Steve and Tim Brady and they enjoyed a handsome win in the House cricket with Steve as Captain, Paul Vice captain and (I suspect) Tim playing all the cricket. He joined KCS Wimbledon in 1966 and left in 1970 having oddly not starred as a sportsman. He is one of the few players that got better after leaving school and of course he played for most of the late 70’s and early 80’s for Sutton and Epsom where he was a regular in the 1st XV even captaining the side for one year and thankfully fluffing his kick against King’s in a tense quarter final in the Surrey Cup glory years. Having played veterans rugby at Sutton he spent his autumn rugby days with King’s vets, teaming up with old pals and bringing skills and knowledge to our well developed game. His interest in the Club remained and of course he was keen to see Sam progress as a coach through the juniors to be head coach of the current 1st XV. He attended many club matches and brought his knowledge of the game to bear on many occasions on the touchline.
There is a family only funeral but all Paul's friends are invited to two events. the first at KCS Old Boys RFC on the 7 October 2017 and then the second at Sutton and Epsom RFC, date TBC.
