The New Season is nearly here!

4 months ago By Paddy Ralston

Key start of the season dates

Dear All,
We are just one month away from the start of the new season. We look forward to seeing you at the club in September.
The key September dates are:
Sunday 2 September – 10am – Mini and Junior Rugby starts
Saturday 8 September – 3pm – 1XV start league matches away at Old Alleynians
Saturday 15 September – Open Day at club from 12 noon. (See below)

Open Day – Saturday 15 September
The 1XV are at home to London Exiles at 3pm. There will also be a senior 10s tournament featuring both 2XVs from King’s and Blues. There will be activities for children including coaching from the RFU. A barbeque is planned. More details will follow at the start of September but please support the day.

Club Subscriptions
The new subscription forms are attached. There is no increase in price. However we would be very grateful for an early payment as the club has had a difficult year financially with extraordinary costs on car park, kitchen and other clubhouse issues. Any donations would be very welcome too!

More people wanted!
King’s rely on the efforts of volunteers. Without them there would be no club. It is great fun to be involved with the club and there are a host of jobs you can help with. There is a volunteer notice board at the club with a list of roles but even the smallest help is very welcome.
Players of all ages, sizes and shapes are also welcome. Please spread the word about the club and what we can offer. The more the merrier at every age!

Some light reading..
We would urge everyone one to glance at the RFU’s excellent Rugby Safe advice. The club is committed to make sure we all follow these guidelines. The page on the RFU website is easy to follow and every aspect of rugby safety is covered. The link is: www.englandrugby.com/rugbysafe

And Finally..
We are going to try to make the club plastic free this season. From plates and glasses for the senior players through to drinks for the kids on Sundays we will try to not use plastic, or if we do it will be re-useable. This is not as easy as it sounds and if anyone has any good advice we would welcome their input.
