Welcome to King's Rugby
For the 2012-13 season King's Twos welcome Darryn Clark as their captain...a man who does not know the meaning of fear...or the meaning of many other words for that matter.
Playing in the Surrey Alliance League this year the Twos look forward to not only renewing some old rivalries but also hosting some not so familiar names at Motspur Park. All sides that visit can be sure of a hard but fair game on the pitch followed by a warm welcome in the clubhouse off it.
King's has historically drawn players from far and wide with old boys of KCS Wimbledon running out with local residents, friends, colleagues and overseas players from Zimbabwe, Hungary, Slovenia and Argentina to name but a few as well the traditional Southern Hemisphere rugby playing nations.
If you are new to the area, looking to get back into the game after a break, keen to get fit, or simply want to play some rugby closer to home, then please get in touch through the website or with our Club Manager (paddy@kings.org.uk) direct. Alternatively feel free to come down to training - 7.30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It's not often Americans speak sense but I will leave you with the words of Joe Theismann of NFL fame who got the game just about right when he said "...rugby is great. The players don’t wear helmets or padding; they just beat the living daylights out of each other and then go for a beer. I love that."
