Albion travelled to Stanningley to take on there 'A' team. Albion started well putting in some good defencive work to turn the ball over in the home sides half. Stanningley were up to the task as they kept Albion out for 2 repeat sets. The home side struck first when a long kick on the fifth tackle was gathered well by full back Jason Butlin
only for it to be stripped on the next play allowing Stanningley to score out wide the kick was missed.
From the re-start Stanningley spun the ball out wide for their full back to sprint over to score, the extras were added,Albion trailed 10-0. With Albion pressing hard Dario Sposato
made an excellent break only to be tackled short of the line,however it was the hosts who scored next to take a 14-0 half time lead.
The second half started much better for Albion with Jak Adams spliting the Stanningley defence to touch down at the side of the posts, Alfie Seeley
added the extras. Keighley looked much improved with some good strong running from Man of the Match Dario Sposato
, Albion soon had another try after a good powerfull run by Olek Pala
, the kicked was missed.
Albion were now in control of the game, the next score for Albion came from Jason Butlin
who broke through the line to score out wide, Seeley added the two, Albion took the lead 14-16.
In what was an exciting second half both teams had good chances to win the game but it was Stanningley who had the luck and scored after a knock on by Albion.
Albions chance to clinch the game went begging after a short kick off Albion took possesion and found themselves 10m out on the last tackle, Alfie put a well weighted kick up to see Sam Nicholson
catch the ball over the Stanningley try line only for it to be knocked out of his hands,the whistle was blown, Albion lost a well fought match 20-16.
