As we approach the first came of the season against Bedford Swifts, I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who voted me into the position of Chairman of Kempston Rugby Club. When I arrived at the club 2 years ago, I never thought that I would start a game, let alone be voted in as Chairman!

Since I arrived at the club, the team has grown considerably, both in quantity and quality and that was no more evident last season when we played some truly stunning rugby. It has been really pleasing to see lots of new faces at training this summer and I would like to thank all of the new lads for their efforts so far.

I am sure that if we continue to get the numbers to training, putting in the efforts that we have shown so far, then we can have a very successful season. There is going to be lots of competition for places this season, but this only makes us all up our game and become better players.

This weekend we start against Swifts and it will be a good opportunity to put everything into practice that we have trained so hard for. I personally cannot wait to put the shirt on and play with you all again.
