Weekend Preview (17/12/11)

By Richard Edmondson, Wednesday December 14

Both Celtic teams are in action this weekend for which will be the last round of fixtures before the Christmas break.

For Celtic’s first team they make the short trip to play Endmoor in what’s a massive game at the bottom of the division.

Celtic currently sit just outside the drop zone 3 clear of this weekends opponents who occupy that 2nd from bottom relegation position.

Last weekend was disappointing for Celtic as they suffered a 7-0 reverse at Keswick, in truth Keswick are one of the form teams of the division and it was always going to be a hard encounter.

Bouncing back is the main aim for Celtic against an Endmoor side that has not won in 11 matches. Celtic played them earlier on in the season at The Jubilee Playing Fields; in a hard fought contest which Celtic edged 1-0, thanks to a Simon Chaplow goal.

I actually saw Endmoor a few weeks ago when they played Kendal Utd away, at the end of the 1st half Endmoor were 2-0 up against a good team.

However the wheels came off in the 2nd half as they lost 3 goals thanks to a Jason Tucker Hat Trick!

The season up to now has been up and down, plenty of inconsistency yet some good results, defeating the likes of Kirkoswald, Kendal Utd and Eden Thistle. Celtic are also in all cup competitions, and face an exciting start to the 2012 campaign!

However a positive result is essential to give Celtic something to build on for when they return in January!

Kendal Celtic Reserves:

The Reserves will be hoping the pitch is playable as they host Ullswater Utd at the Jubilee Playing fields. Last weekends game fell victim to the weather, with the pitch being in an un fit state!

If the Reserves do play they will be looking to pick up more points and climb the league against an Ullswater side that sit in 9th place one point behind Celtic.

Celtic got the better of Ullswater earlier in the season with a 4-1 away win, with a hat trick from Simon Chaplow and an Ian Adams strike!

Both games kick off at 2pm and with it being that time of year any postponements will be announced online in due course as well as on the Kendal Celtic Face Book Group Page.
