It was festival time again and the weather was perfect for running rugby although the ground was a dry and hard. We took a squad of 17 players to try and go one better than last year and win the cup.

Game 1
Sleaford 0 x Kettering 4
A had fort game with some supper tries scored, the forwards giving the backs the platform to score.

Lincoln 0 x Kettering 3
Much the same as the first game hard work done to Secure a good win we had the edge in the lineouts & scrums the backs had the pace to make it count when needed

Market Harborough 0 x Kettering 2
This was a much harder game we took much of the first half to start to control the game as Harborough were not going to make it easy, but our forwards and backs linked well to come out on top

This was the game we had been waiting for we played some of our best rugby against the team that beat us in last years final, our forwards had the bit between there teeth and were to strong in the scrums & lineouts again our backs were running with real conviction and we were to strong for Stamford who never gave up.

And now to the final again it was just not our day with the first couple of minutes we fell a sleep and missed a few tackles, which cost us in the end. To the credit of our players we came back well and finished the stronger team another fine forward display in the second half, and some fine runs in the last few minutes from the backs nearly levelled the scores, well done to Spalding for holding on for the win.
