KCCFC played FC Assembley for the third time this season last Sunday morning at a very sunny Lansdown. KCCFC started with yet again a different starting eleven. Sam Wheller was welcomed back into the centre of midfield alongside Christian Southall (both players didn't feature last time out), Andy Applin had a starting position on the left hand side of Midfield. Tom Bancroft replaced the missing Jez Hare, who was on a school skiing trip.
KCCFC playing in their second strip of blue and white started the game pressurising the home side's defence on numerous occasions with Marcus Smith and Rich Watkins causing some early problems for the hosts. The early pressure then resulted in a break through when Christian Southall finished off yet again outside of the box with a smart finish into the bottom right hand corner after 11 minutes. This early goal sparked what looked like was going to be a very comfortable result for the away side. FC Assembley who picked up a decent result with local neighbours New Inn Wanderers the previous week looked very under strength compared to the last two meetings. KCCFC maintained great pressure on the hosts defence bar 'Des' the left back who had a solid game for the home side. 'Des' opposite number however got the better of him on the half hour mark when Andy Applin's wavey run ended with a sweet half volley from 12 yards out which was celebrated in a disgusting nature flapping his moobs everywhere. Andy Applin then went on to complete his third 90 minutes for the KCCFC, Bath RUH were on emergency dial by the KCCFC supporters. Three minutes later after the second goal it became number three for the KCCFC when Rich Watkins collected his first of three goals for the morning with a smart strike into the far corner. 3-0 at half time and it could have been a hell of a lot more. The half time oranges were provided by Amanda and the boys got the fluid on board ready to start the second half. FC Assembley started to actually pass the ball a bit but never looked like troubling the strong central defensive partnership of Davis and Hawkins. KCCFC on the hour mark found a new player in Marcus Smith who had been nothing but distinctly average in this fixtute. He provided his usual spawny lob which found Rich Watkins to collect his second of the game yet again smashing the ball past the helpless goalkeeper to make the score 4-0. FC Assembley hit back immeaditely after a poor error from Gary Branton allowed the hosts striker to smash into the roof of the net past the despairing Bancroft who saw his clean sheet bonus ripped up in shreads. Rich Watkins completed his hattrick ten minutes from time after Ryan Branton unselfishly passed across the box for Watkins to complete his second hattrick of the season. KCCFC recorded a 5-1 victory and maintained their grip on third place.
No game next weeekend however there is training Thursday evening at 6.30pm.
