4th XV Report by T Ryeline
Coarse rugby in its nicest sense, rules!, Social rugby, was a winner when the fourths played at Midsomer Norton. Keynsham travelled with just 10 players, but Norton ‘lent’ them 2 and 14-12 a-side game ensued. Against all odds the Keynsham pack was the better of the 2 sets of forwards, but being 2 men down there was not much defence when Norton pushed the ball wide. Keynsham can’t thank Norton enough for a really good day for the game of rugby; a score-line of 98-5 is irrelevant as 26 blokes enjoyed a good run round and marvellous camaraderie. Highlight was superb try by Dave Thorpe, chairman of the mini’s section at KRFC.
