KSAC's Much Wenlock Olympic Efforts - July 2011

Kidderminster & Stourport AC go to Much Wenlock

This 7 mile mainly road race is one of a number of events run over the weekend of July 9th/10th by the Wenlock Olympian Society. The route winds its way up for about 4 miles with a very sharp hill at Wyke; the last 3 miles being pretty much downhill through scenic Wenlock, ending with a welcome tree covered route, followed by a sprint finish onto the playing fields.

There were some excellent runs by members; Christine Sedman-Smith getting gold in the FV60 category and John Amos and Dave Vale both getting bronze in their respective categories of MV50 and MV60.

First home for the club in 12th place in a time of 46.27 was John Amos, followed by Phil Taylor 49:42 (26th); Paul Roberts 51:45 (36th); Roger Carter 52:13 (38th); Mark Burcher 52:19 (40th); Dave Vale 52:40 (46th); Paul Bradley 54:36 (57th); Christine Sedman-Smith 54:51 (59th); Claire Pawson 56:54 (77th); Pat Fletcher 59:02 (93rd); Ian Clough 59:27 (99th); Mick Hudson 65:31 (127th); Ron Payne 66:21 (136th); Pam Manning 74:22 (154th); Nancy Ingram 76:39 (159th) and Wendy Coleman 82:33 (164th)
