Captain John Moss was looking for another successful season with his young side in Division 10 with many KCC youth players representing this side.

A brilliant 6 wicket victory at home to Stanton Harcourt CC got the 3rd XI to a good start in the league. After bowling out Stanton for 89, with Jim Blackford taking 4 wickets and Under 15 Malcolm Webb 3 wickets, KCC knocked off the runs for the loss of 4 wickets. The following week saw the 3rd XI game away at Kennington CC succumb to the weather. A narrow defeat away at Deddington CC was very nearly a narrow victory. After being bowled out for 115, Jim Blackford took 5 wickets as Deddington just managed to score the required runs, finishing on 118/8. Another washout, this time away at Kilkenny CC saw the 3rd sitting pretty in the 3rd place in Division 10. The 3rd XI bowed out of the Keith Crump Centenary Cup after a 3 wicket defeat to Division 9 side Wootton and Boars Hill CC. Back in the league, KCC moved into 1st place in the league after a 57 run victory away at Westcott CC. KCC posted 139/8 with Michael Webb top scoring with 46. Jim Blackford then bowled Kidlington to victory taking 8 wickets. A 29 run victory against Charlbury CC saw KCC stay top of the league all be it with teams below them having game in hand on them. 61* from Paul Hewitt guided KCC to 191/7 before 4 wicket for Craig Rogers saw KCC bowl Charlbury out for 162. A 3 wicket defeat away at Hanney CC saw KCC drop into 2nd place. After being bowled out for 119, Hanney scored the required runs with Ran De Silva taking 3 wickets. A brilliant 7 wicket victory away at Stanton Harcourt CC saw KCC stay in touch with the league leaders. Ran De Silva took 5 wickets as Stanton were all out for 124. Razwan Dogar then top scored with 77 as KCC secured victory. Next up was a home game against Kennington CC which saw KCC wrack up the runs, finishing on 281/5. John Pratt top scored with 89, ably supported by John Moss with 59*. Kennington were then restricted to 160/7 as KCC won by 121 runs. A weather affected game saw the 3rd XI escape defeat at home to Kilkenny CC. With Kilkenny posting 285/1, KCC were on 55/5 before rain stopped play. The next game for the 3rd XI was a washout at home to Hanney CC, before their next game was conceded by Westcott CC leaving KCC sat in 3rd position in Division 10. A defeat away at Charlbury CC meant any hope of promotion had now gone. Charlbury batted forst, scoring 227/8, before KCC were all out for 122, John Moss scoring 53*. The final game of the season was a home fixture to Deddington CC. Batting first, KCC finished on 126/9, Chris Blackford top scored with 49*. Ran De Silva then took 3 wickets as KCC won by 13 runs and finished the season on a high.

Another superb season for the 3rd XI saw them finish in 3rd place in Division 10 with some outstanding performances throughout the season, especially from some young members of the team.

Martin Eagle finished top of the runs with 181 averaging 21. John Moss scored 179 runs with an average of 25 and Razwan Dogar scored 187 runs with an average of 17.

Ran De Silva finished top of the bowling, taking 17 wickets at an average of 15. Under 15 player, Malcolm Webb bowled well all season taking 15 wickets. Under 13 Ajay Behal also bowled extremely well taking 7 wickets in only 6 matches.

With the continued development of the young members of the 3rd XI, along with the experience of the senior players, the team will be aiming to push for promotion in the 2015 season.
