Eastie take the lads to Gloucestershire this Saturday......read on

Kidlington’s second team board the minibus and head for Gloucestershire to face Shortwood United Reserves this Saturday. Buoyed by three wins and three clean sheets on the bounce they will be looking to improve on their current fifth position in Hellenic Division One West.

Eastie would like to take the opportunity to congratulate his players for their attitude and professionalism over the three recent home matches which resulted in three victories. The most pleasing aspects were that we kept three clean sheets and the vast majority of his players are 20 years old or younger.

Quick shout out to our skipper Callum Rice who sustained a nasty knee injury against Tytherington Rocks, we all hope he has a speedy recovery as we want Ricey back asap. He has been instrumental in everything The Green Machine have achieved over the last two years. Matt Isimene and Luke Spearman are away at present and will not be in the squad for Saturday.

Nick is also delighted to have secured the services of the ex Cheltenham Town midfielder James McCarthy even if it is just for a short period until he secures a team to play for at a higher level. James recently acquired international clearance and whilst we have an injury crisis in central midfield, he will be a valuable asset.

Squad versus Shortwood:
Nick Lacey, Sam Elbro, Mark Gaul, Zac Farrow, Ewan Jones, Will Leach, Jack Gaul, Matty Didcock, Anton Mundy, Watheq Al-Hakam, Kristian Thomas, Josh Smith, James McCarthy and Josh Tooke.

After Saturday's match next up is a home Hellenic Floodlit Cup match versus Carterton at Yarnton Road on Monday night. 7.45 ko.
