Kidlington FC will pay tribute to this young man at Yarnton Road this Saturday afternoon.

Aidan Sollis, a Kidlington player, lost his two year battle with cancer and
died peacefully on Saturday the 15th of September. He would have been 20 years
old on the 27th of September 2018.
Aidan started playing for Kidlington Youth at Evans Lane in the summer of
2004, a few months before his 6th birthday. He flourished as a player in
goal and out on pitch and at a very early age it was clear to all who knew
him and watched him that he was a full blooded type of footballer. A very
hard tackler, and all left footed, he played at Kidlington Youth up to the
age of U15's and then joined Kidlington Football Club in the summer of 2014.
He played for the U16's and U17's in the 15/16 season and it was in a pre season
friendly in August 2016, that he broke his rib which led to the discovery of the cancer.
he had actually trained briefly with the reserves and was proving to be
promising all-rounder. Despite some serious surgery and after a couple of lengthy courses of chemotherapy and periods of hope, his cancer returned with devastating
effect last September 2017.
The Friends of Aidan Group were formed then, and provided some support for
Aidan and his family in these last few months.
Our thoughts and love go out to his family at this truly distressing and
terrible time.
