Last Saturday Kidlington were beaten by Aylesbury United 2 - 1 at Thame United's ASM Stadium. Kidlington took a 1st half lead when Skipper Tom Franklin lashed home the lose ball after the home defence failed to clear a Lewis Coyle corner.

At half time Franklin who was feeling a niggle in his back had to be substituted and Aylesbury equalised when Sonny French scored in the 60th minute. Kidlington though took the game by the throat after this goal and looked like they were about to retake the lead, however a bizarre goal was to befall the visitors. An Aylesbury defender forcefully blocked a forward ball on the half way line, the ball flew high up into the air and toward Sam Warrell's goal. Warrell looked to have the danger covered, but as he caught it he also stepped back and hit his arm and back on the post, the ball slipped from his grasp and rolled into the net!

This Saturday's match against Ashford will conclude the season, The Green's first at this level of football, and after a dodgy start where a forced change of management came about will be judged by everyone at the club as extremely successful.

Incoming manager Julian McCalmon will have secured a mid-table finish and that is more than anyone at the club would have expected after the first 7 or 8 games. In fact a victory against Ashford Town would guarantee at top half finish for the Yarnton Road outfit, so it's all to play for.

Team News is that Mark Janes is suspended and Jack Dunmall is back on the injured list again after sustaining a new injury at Aylesbury last weekend.
