The Green's should have secured the points in this one but let all their good work slip in injury time......read on

Kidlington 3 North Leigh 3

In this battle of the basement sides North Leigh came back from the dead to snatch a point.

Kidlington dominated the opening exchanges and went ahead in the 7th minute, Declan Benjamin (pictured) firing home a brilliant 25 yard free kick, the ball arrowing into the top left hand corner of the goal.

Kidlington were rampant during this period and the visitors looked like they were like 'rabbits in the headlights'. The Greens rained down attack after attack and a second goal came on 13 minutes, again Benjamin was the scorer. The Big man powered into the box his shot deflecting off a North Leigh defender, which wrong footed keeper Eddie Cavanagh, and the ball span into the net.

Only 4 minutes later and Kidlington increased their lead further, this time from a deep free kick, which central defender Tommy Franklin rose high to head home at the far post for 3 - 0.

At this point it looked all so easy for the home side as Nick Thorne saw a good effort saved by Cavanagh, however after this action North Leigh started to edge their way back into the game.

Just before half time George Seacole and Henry Landers combined, however Kidlington Keeper Sam Warrell was wise to the situation and came racing out from goal to save the day. After this the visitors ended on top, in fact i'd have to report that they looked like a side that had regained confidence and were pressing hard for a goal.

The second half stated much as the first had finished with Kidlington's back line having to work extreamly hard to repel a resurgent North Leigh attack.

A well worked move in the 54th minute saw North Leigh skipper Seacole pull a goal back, the striker rasping his shot past Warrell and into the roof of the net.

Some of Kidlinhton's players were looking jaded & tired by around the hour mark and North Leigh sensed this to keep the pressure firmly on the home side. Kidlington for their part made a couple of substitutions with Josh Urqhart and Josh Tooke coming on to replace Brad Singh and Nick Thorne.

These substitutions seemed to help Kidlington's situation, but with more players fading from the game the visitors were keeping up the pressure.

In what were proving rare breakaways Kidlington's Elliott Osborne-Ricketts combined well with Benjamin, however the latter's shot went straight at Cavenagh. Kidlington although holding this 2 goal lead were becoming desperate and with 10 minutes to go were trying to play for time by holing up the ball in their opponents corner areas.

North Leigh had given everything they had for their cause, but it looked like it wouldn't be enough as were entered injury time at the end of the game, however to their great credit they never gave up.

Cue a spectacular ending to this match. In the 4th minute of added time the visitors perseverance paid off when Henry Landers smashed the ball home for what looked like being only a late consolation goal, however straight from the re-start some sloppy play allowed North Leigh to regain regained possession again and they didn't hesitate to get it forward again quickly to Seacole. The striker didn't need to think about what to do next and hammered his shot past Warrell for 3 - 3, which was an unthinkable score only 2 minutes before.

This was definitely the last action of the game as as soon a Kidlington kicked off the referee blew his final whistle.
