We fell to a heavy home defeat to Bedford this weekend.....read on

Kidlington 0 Bedford Town 0

Unfortunately for the home side this game was a mismatch from start to finish as Bedford ran riot at Yarnton Road.

Dan Walker opened the scoring on 7 minutes when he latched onto a through ball and calmly stroked his shot past keeper Sam Warrell. In the 22nd minute Craig Daniel doubled their lead when he latch onto a lose ball and steered his shot inside the far post. Bedford were completely on top and only a string of excellent saves from Skipper Warrell prevented the visitors adding to their tally before the break.
the second half was only 2 minutes old when Paul Benson, who looked suspiciously offside, added a third. Benson ran through unchallenged and chipped his shot over an advancing Warrell. Benson was having a purple patch and it was the striker who added Bedford's 4th goal, heading home after meeting a superbly directed corner kick from Daniel in the 62nd minute. Warrell was the only one standing between Kidlington and a massive defeat as once again he pulled off a string of magnificent saves. However in the 80th minute he was forced to retrieve the ball form the back of his net once again. Bedford skipper Gavin Hoyte bulleted a header into the net, after he met another well directed corner kick. that was the end of the scoring but Bedford will be well pleased with their first run-out of the season while Ady Fuller's embryonic side will be forced to return to the drawing board in readiness for their trip to Bromsgrove this Tuesday evening.
