Tytherington Rocks 0 Kidlington 5

Kidlington’s young Hellenic side had a superb victory on Saturday away to Tytherington Rocks. Just like the first team the green machine traveled to a Bristol based team and came home with an emphatic win. The Rocks have been Division One West champions twice in recent seasons, 2011 and 2014.

Striker Ewan Jones opened the scoring after three minutes with a very neat finish into the bottom corner. After that early blow it was one way traffic, in the eighth minute, skipper Callum Rice curled a free kick into the net. After twenty minutes Josh Tooke (pictured) then had a penalty saved but the young greens did not have to wait long as Will Leach then made it three after twenty nine minutes with a fantastic finish from the edge of the area.

Tooke was not to be denied though and grabbed two close range goals either side of the half time break. Once the Greens went five nil up after 49 minutes it became a coast and in all honesty they should have added to their tally through Jack Gaul, Josh Smith, Will Leach and young debutante, ex Oxford City Nomads striker Shavaugn Scott.

This was a great performance though, next up is a mouth watering local derby against Woodstock Town on Monday 22nd January at the theater of Greens (Yarnton Road Stadium) in the Supplementary Cup, 7.45 ko.
