So it's now settled and we will travel to 'The Recreation Ground' home of Spartan South Midland League side St Margaretsbury Town for our Emirates FA Cup 1st Qualifying match.

Yesterday evening the two sides met at Hullbridge Sports for the replay and the home side took the lead through Luca Frankis in only the 5th minute. Hullbridge kept that advantage until a penalty was awarded to the visitors in the 76th minute, Skipper Lee Roberts took it and an assured kick tied the score at 1 - 1.
It finished at 1 - 1 and through an extra 30 minutes extra time no further goals were forthcoming so it had to be settled on penalty kicks.
For the home side Jimmy Cox had his penalty saved by keeper adam Seymore, so it all rested on the shoulders of St Margaretsbury defender Jamie Stevenson. Stevenson cool as you like converted his spot kick to send the Hertfordshire club through. St Margaretsbury are members of the Spartan South Midland league Premier Division which is a step 5 club, same as Wanatage Town (Hellenic premier Division). This season they have lost their first 2 league matches and currently sit bottom of their table. They were beaten 4-0 at home by Welwyn Garden City and 2- 1 away by Edgware Town.
In the FA Cup they beat Burnham Ranblers FC from the Essex Senior League 3- 2 at home in the Extra Preliminary Round before drawing 2-2 with Hullbridge last Saturday.
