Two late goals from Anaclet Odhiambo guided Kidlington to a 4 - 2 victory in Gloucestershire this afternoon....read on

These were very hard earned points but you really wouldn't have thought they would have to have been at the half time interval.

Kidlington bossed the first period and had a converted Tommy Castle penalty after Lewis Brownhill had been fouled in the box, and a Brownhill strike to show for their efforts and lead by a comfortable 2 - 0 at the break..

Into the second period and after an initial flurry Kidlington found themselves on the back foot.

Brimscombe had made a tactical substitution at the start of the second half bringing Simon Clarke on to replace Joe Tustain.

This seemed to give the hosts new impetus and after Karl Nash hit the bar with a rasping drive it was only a couple of minutes later Ben Deakin cut the deficits in half when he sprinted clear of Chris Weedon and fired home in the 60th minute.

To make matters worse for the visitors Substitute Clarke burst into the box and fired past Sam Warrell to level the match at 2 - 2 only 5 minutes later.

Shaken but not completely stirred Kidlington gradually began to find their feet again.

Brimscombe definitely had their tails up but it was Kidlington who were again looking more likely to score.

In the 77th minute home keeper Steve Sparrow under pressure lost possession of the ball outside his box, Jack Quainton got on the end of his wayward pass and shot for the open goal from 30 yards out, the ball rolled agonisingly wide on the far post.

Kidlington now grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and when Kristian Thomas intercepted a cross field pass he fed Brownhill on the overlap. Brownhill crossed into the box, Quainton miss-hit a shot but the ball went straight through to Anaclet Odhiambo (pictured) at the far post from where the little man fired Kidlington back in front in the 83rd minute.

Kidlington now looked back in control and a fine move late in proceedings allowed substitute Ben Willoughby to play in Odhiambo and he once again fired the ball home to secure the points.

This really was a tough second half for Kiddy against a very resilient Brimbscome and Thrupp out fit who really gave the visitors a scare when they came beck to level the game at 2 - 2. Only that little bit of extra guile and probably quality eventually saw Kidlington home to take all three points.

It had to be a battling display especially in the second half and one which Kiddy have now come through, next up another difficult match against Highmoor Ibis at Yarnton Road this Tuesday evening.
