Kidlington Sign Off home Campaign With a Draw

2 months ago By Simon Dickens

Kidlington and Mangotsfield produced an entertaining 2-2 on

The Greens completed there home fixtures in front of an extreamly disappointing crowd of just 34 paying customers.
A deft header form Conor McDonagh had given Kidlington the lead in the 22nd minute, only for a moment of hesitation at the back from Ben Willoughby in the home defence which led to a the Mango's being awarded a penalty. Williams stepped up to smash the spot kick home on 43 minutes which leveled things up just before half time.
In the second half The Mangos came our fired up creating a host of chances before deservedly going ahead as the home team lost their shape, Simpson the scorer in the 50th minute. However the swift introduction of Lance Williams and in particular James Organ at the back steadied the ship as Kidlington turned the tide on their opponents. Another quality finish from just inside the box from Conor McDonagh leveled the scores soon afterwards and despite many chances at both ends a draw seemed the right result.
