Kidlington’s Development side were on fire on Saturday at Yarnton Road Stadium. The Greens went back up to second in the league, 3 points behind leaders Cheltenham Saracens as they hosted bottom club in Uhlsport Hellenic Division One West, New College Academy from Swindon.

An incredible sixteen goals followed for The Greens without reply. Stars of the show were new signing Danny Bone, who scored a hatrick on his debut and jimmy Deabiill (pictured) who matched Dan’s feat. Other goalscorers on a quagmire of a pitch were Jordan Parker (2), Denilson Silva (2), Callum Rice (2), Piers Walton (2) and single strikes from teenagers Aaron Morton and Harley Firkin. This was a ruthless performance from The Greens against very young opponents.

As noted, prolific striker, Danny Bone has returned to the club from Bicester Town for a second spell. His experience will be invaluable to work with our youngsters in this development side. He is also joined by young forward Denilson Silva who has joined from Leighton Town who play in the Spartans Midlands League. These two replace two experienced players that have left the club, striker Kevin Davies and winger Jamie Wyatt. The former joining former club Moreton Rangers

Team: Nick Lacey, Mark Burton, Luke Spearman, Gavin Kidd, Harley Firkin, Jordan Parker, Aaron Morton, Callum Rice, Denilson Silva, Jimmy Deabill and Danny Bone. Subs (all used), Jack Gaul, Luke Hayward and Piers Walton.

Monday nights home match versus Flackwell Heath in the Floodlit Cup was postponed due to an unfit pitch. Next up for The Greens Development is a trip to Newent Town on Saturday in the league.
