We certainly deserved more than a point after Kristian Thomas gave us the lead, but a late goal from the Highmoor stole them a point....read on

Things didn't bode well when we found out that Chris Weedon and Mark Flanagan weren't fit enough to take part, then only 15 minutes into the match we lost Ryan Brooks to injury.

Still, Kidlington bossed the 1st half but had no goals to show for their efforts as MOTM Rob Tebby, the Highmoor keeper, made a string of good saves. Lewis Coyle did hit a post after a mazy run but that is a closest as we got.

After the break Kidlington were again the team on top and should have taken the lead when Tommy Castle was brought down in the area and Kiddy were awarded a penalty. Castle got up to take the kick and maybe tried to take it a little bit too quickly after being hacked down, never the less he hit it weakly and Tebby palmed it away.

Some less than pretty fouls by the visitors on Kidlington's players followed, the worst of these on Lewis Gabbidon kicked in the mouth and an awful elbow to the face of Tommy Castle. Both Kiddy players required lengthy treatment to stem the flow of claret before they could continue!

Still several bookings were handed out but at least two reds should have been shown, still they weren't and you just have to get on with it.

Whilst all this was going on Kristian Thomas (pictured) had put Kidlington in the lead in the 58th minute with a fabulous first time finish from the edge of the box.

Tebby made even more quality saves in this second period and this coupled with some 'not best' finishing let Highmoor off the hook and late in the game Kiddy were made to pay. Following a free kick which bounced on the wet turf right in front of keeper Sam Warrell the keeper couldn't gather the ball in and Sanchez Commack slotted in the rebound for 1 - 1 in the 85th minute.

We played 7 minutes of added time but Kidlington couldn't find a winner even though they tried.

Off to Chertsey Town for an FA Cup tie this Saturday, lets hope for better luck and obviously a less physical game or if we do a stronger set of officials, this of course is only my own view of proceedings.
