Kidlington’s Development team have been drawn at home in the semi final of the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup.....read on

Kidlington last won this competition 34 years ago in 1985, however The Greens made it to the final last season narrowly losing in the final to Chinnor and the semi finals on penalties to Oxford City Nomads the season before.

This season manager Nick East will be hoping his side will go all the way, but face a very tough semi final against an excellent Chesterton side. After winning the Banbury & District League they now operate in Division One of the Oxfordshire Senior League and are favorites to win the league again. They have players that have operated successfully at Hellenic league level and it will be a very strong test.

The Greens have had to do it the hard way in this years competition following very tough away draws throughout the competition so far, particularly when they overcame Headington Amateurs and Berinsfield by the same scoreline 4-2. North Oxford were dispatched 6-2 in the last round, again away from home.

The other semi final is between Marston Saints reserves and Watlington Town. Our semi final will be played at Yarnton Road Stadium on Saturday 23rd February (ko time TBC).

Make a note in your diaries to go and support the young greens in their quest to make history and end 34 years of hurt!!!
