Kidlington's second string made it four wins on the trot beating a dogged Letcombe side 3-2 at Yarnton Road on Saturday...read on

With many players unavailable or injured there were six changesfrom the midweek cup win at Hook Norton.

The Green Machine flew out of the blocks and were 2-0 up within 15 minutes. Mark Gaul struck his sixth goal in three games from close range. Then Callum Rice hit a forty yard pass into the
path of fellow youngster Declan Allen-Stokes who smashed an unstoppable volley into the top corner.

After this Kiddy took the foot off the gas and became complacent. Letcombe pulled one back before the break and within five minutes of the restart they were level. Kidlington then huffed and puffed against a very resolute defence.

With 25 minutes to go the greens made a tactical change, switching to a 3-5-2 formation. This allowed Nick East to introduce Denel Thomas in the number 10 role. Immediately chances we being created. Kiddy were snatching at chance after chance, then in the 84th minute, Thomas put in a pinpoint cross for youngster Maxwell Jones to send a bullet header into the top corner. Another three points were in the bag.

Next up a home match against Northway Boys in The Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup next Saturday here at Yarnton Road.
