In a repeat of Saturday’s 3-3 draw at Abingdon United, Kidlington go into Tuesday nights Supplementary Cup fresh in the mind that if they are take anything from this fixture, discipline and concentration for the duration of the game are an absolute must if they are to progress through to the next round.

In comments after Saturday’s game Kidlington Manager Martin Wilkinson said:

“I am extremely disappointed we didn’t take 3 points from the game but what disappoints me most is the nature we surrendered 2 points. For me, it was self-inflicted lunacy and the sending off was completely avoidable in my opinion. I thought the standard of refereeing was poor but I cannot defend the actions of a player who continuously questions refereeing decisions because it is pointless. Rightly or wrongly, the referee has made his decision and we have to accept it. I expect everyone to learn from the dismissal.”

On a more positive front, striker Kristian Thomas scored 2 excellent goals and the debut goal from Marc Begg contributed to a more potent looking strike-force.

Wilkinson commented:

“I was pleased Beggy got on the score sheet and I was delighted with Thomas getting a brace. Kristian (Thomas) has worked so hard since joining the club and I think once he finds his feet at this level, he could be an absolute goal machine. His two goals today were a sign he is now coming to terms with step 5 football and long may that continue.”

Kidlington have Julian McCalman, Lewis Coyle, Lewis Brownhill & Chris Blakely back in the squad for this game.

Kidlington Team From - Luke Sanders, Chris Blakely, Liam Rice, Tom Franklin, Ben Weedon, Chris Weedon, Jack Quainton, Ryan Curtin, Tom Castle. Ben Willoughby, Kristian Thomas, Lewis Brownhill, Lewis Coyle, Julian McCalmon, Marc Begg.
