LESS than a month after hitting the heights in the FA Cup, KIDSGROVE find themselves in the relegation zone writes the Sentinel...

Grove have picked up one point from the last 8 following their 2-1 home defeat by Goole and are second from bottom.

Kidsgrove are riddled with injury problems and manager Peter Ward said: "It is the injuries that are deciding the team. It is a nightmare.

"Confidence is low and there is no continuity in the team."

Grove, already without striker Andy Kinsey, took a chance with leading scorer Dave Walker, but he was forced off at half-time.

Kidsgrove's fate was down to two mistakes which led to goals after five and 75 minutes – scored by Aaron Martin and Simon Harrison – and they still failed to make much headway when Goole had a man sent off just before half-time following a foul on Ashley Carter.

Ward said: "We had quite a lot of possession without hurting them, although after Andy Taylor had made it 2-1 (81 mins) their goalkeeper dragged the ball back from well over the goal line.

"That's the way things are going at the moment, but I feel we can get out of it."
