A well-prepared team is a sign of a well-run club. This helps create the right attitude on the pitch and makes everyone's life a little bit simpler come match day. We need a new Kit Secretary as our current one has handed in his notice, citing 'creative differences'.*
Are you:
Reasonably well-organised, and able to count up to 20?
Vaguely enthusiastic about Kilburn Cosmos RFC?
Keen to help, but don't want to go to committee meetings?
Free to write the odd e-mail every now & again?
Able to take deliveries during the daytime, and then get them down to the clubhouse?
What you’ll do:
Discuss requirements with coaches, managers, committee members & drunken players.
Obtain quotes from a few trusted suppliers, and place the order.
Take delivery of kit, check it matches what you ordered, and bring to the clubhouse for distribution.
Keep track of orders placed, prices agreed, money spent.
Get annoyed by missing match balls, forgotten first aid kits, and broken kicking tees.
Report the above to the committee by email once a month.
How much time it will take up:
About 20-30 mins during the week writing emails, if there's an order on the go.
Another 20-30 mins whenever you're down the clubhouse.
We place about 12 orders per year - the busiest time is during pre-season, and slowest is after Christmas. Unlike some rugby jobs, you are rarely working to a deadline, and so can fit the necessary work around your own schedule.
What you’ll get out of it:
The respect and admiration of your fellow players.
A warm glow of satisfaction at helping your club.
First dibbs on any kit that comes in.
Not having to attend committee meetings.
If you are interested in this exciting position, please apply by email to the usual sources.
