Kilburn Cosmos Bs 15 - 34 Ealing Amateur 2nds
A gallant effort say the Bs go down 34-15 despite playing 80 minutes with 14 men.
Having seen their ranks decimated through injury Kilburn Cosmos Bs where unable to field a front row and forced to play their entire match with 14 men.
Kilburn held firm in the first half. Winning 100% of their own lineouts ball Kilburn established a foot hold in the game. Camped in Earling territory Kilburn could not get over the line. Some handling errors and a missed penalty relieving the pressure. Ealing scored first however, breaking from their own 22 to score under the posts. Kilburn fought back with some quick hands in the backs giving James Strother the opportunity to step his man and go over for his first try of the season.
Coming out 7-5 up Ealing made their extra man count. They played a more expansive game, going over for several tries out wide where Kilburn were short numbers. Not to be deterred Kilburn finished the stronger. After sustained pressure in the 22 lead to a penalty. A quick tap by Hughie Molloy end with Strother going over in the corner for his second try of the day. And in the final minutes a sweeping move up the pitch lead to debutant Ciaran O' Driscoll-Connor diving over the line.
A final score of 34-15 saw Kilburn getting nothing for their efforts. Ealing 2nds move up to 2nd in the table. Special mention to the four debutants Archie, Seb, Guido and Ciaran.
