Our bid tagline is "Carrying you home to the birthplace of gay rugby" which, at its heart, is about great rugby and our great rugby community.

Not only will we create the best Bingham for rugby, but it will be an incredible celebration of everything our rugby community has achieved, is achieving and will achieve in the future.

So do make yourself comfortable with a nice ‘cuppa’ (and biscuits!) before you find out how the Steelers will give you a once-in-a-rugby-lifetime opportunity to experience the Bingham Cup like you've never experienced it before. #LDN2018 #LDNBingham

And for some quick highlights of the bid, this is our Elevator Pitch to you!

When?

25 June - 1 July 2018, with the tournament playing days on 29 June - 1 July.

Timing of the tournament will also coincide with Pride in London 2018, expected to be held the weekend just prior to our proposed playing days.

Where?

Playing Grounds: Memorial Park, West Ham, East London Opening Ceremony: The Roundhouse, Camden, North London Closing Ceremony: Pulse nightclub (co-hosted by XXL), Central London

Accommodation Option: Queen Mary University Mile End student residences

How?

Overriding Playing Ethos: easy to play, easy to compete.

London 2018: the best Bingham Cup for rugby: first-rate, conveniently located tournament grounds (i.e. 20-minute commute to tournament grounds and city centre), the best amenities (including pitch marshalling and complimentary physio and strapping), fully backed by key partners - Rugby Football Union, London Society of Referees and the Mayor of London.

Encourage Maximum Participation: £100 ($131/€120) early bird registration for players / £90 ($118/€107) for supporters; 10 for 1 subsidy model (one free registration for every 10 players registered).

Unique London Experience: programme of official and unofficial events to highlight the very best of London, England, our LGBT community, and our rugby-playing history and traditions.

Leaving a Legacy/Building Relationships: unprecedented media spotlight on IGR, its members and tournament; establish “The Bingham Academy”, a workshop for established and newly-formed clubs to learn from each other’s experiences and best practices with regard to recruitment, coaching, club development, fundraising, sponsorship, and community relationship building.

Now, as the famous British songstress Dame Shirley Bassey sang, “HEY BIG SPENDER! Spend a little time with me” …IN LONDON!!! Support our bid. You know you want to!
