Volunteers

KBCC cannot achieve all it aims to do this year and beyond, increasing the opportunities for young people to play cricket, without the support of parents and other volunteers. KBCC junior section needs the support and participation of as many parents and volunteers as possible.

Could you assist in any of the following ways?
- Travel to away matches
- Helping during matches
- Team administration and management
- Umpiring & scoring
- Encouraging our Juniors

We would be delighted to hear from anybody who wishes to help out in anyway.

Junior Teams
We will be running 5 competitive teams and 1 or 2 Kwik cricket teams in 2012, but not without an manager for each team to work alongside the coaches. These roles are ideal opportunities for people who perhaps don't fancy helping with the coaching, but would still like to contribute. All that's needed is enthusiasm and some organisational skills.

Contact any of our Committee Members if you are interested.

Coaches
If you are a parent (mums & dads) and might be interested in doing coaching courses, which would be funded by the club. The current KBCC coaches will tell you everything you need to know – including how much fun the courses are!

The ECB website explains the ECB coaching framework.

The UKCC1 (Coaching Assistant) is an ideal entry point for those candidates with limited cricketing experience. This is a 22 hour course, but that includes three hours of first aid and three hours Good Practice and Child Protection training.

The UKCC2 (ECB Coach) is a more demanding course. Candidates must already be familiar with some of the techniques, tactics and rules of the game. This course runs for 36 hours, including three hours of first aid and three hours of Good Practice and Child Protection training. On top of this every candidate has to complete at least 10 hours of supported practice working alongside an ECB qualified coach. Each candidate must complete a record of this activity and this must be accomplished before a final assessment and debrief.
