It's change at the top as Jim Stacey is elected as Chairman.

There was change at the top at last nights AGM as Jim Stacey was elected as Kingswood’s Chairman for the 2014/15 season, after Ian Kirley stood down after 2 years at the helm. A big thank you to Kirley for all his efforts over the last couple of seasons, and a huge welcome to Jim. We are in safe hands.

President (Mark Phillips), Treasurer (Paul Nicol), Hon. Secretary (Alan Bell), Junior Chairman (Derek Golding), Club Captain (Dave Tomlin), Combination Rep (Stan Bailey), Clubhouse Manager (Leanne Bush) and Infrastructure Development Officer (Dave Maddison), all stood for another term in office.

Ian Crook was elected as Merchandise Manager and James Dicks took over as Social Secretary to make sure this 60th Anniversary Season goes off with a bang! He will be supported by Events Managers Sam Maddison and Charlie Spokes. He may have stepped down as Chairman, but Ian Kirley will be taking on the very important role as Membership Secretary. There will be no Standing Orders this season and the debtors list will be making a return. With the redevelopment coming up, we need funds coming in.

Overall it was a successful season for Kingswood both on and off the field. The Seniors reached their first ever Cup Final and reached the Semi-Final in another. The Junior Section broke new records with 160+ now registered as members. They took 285 on tour and catered for a staggering 400 people at the Junior Annual Dinner.

There was more good news on the field as the newly formed Ladies section went from casual training at the start of the season to entering 2 teams into the Summer Touch Leagues, playing their first games on Monday 19th May. A big thank you to Clare & Janine for their amazing efforts and to all the ladies who have made the section a success.

The plans for redeveloping the clubhouse are now in full swing. Cost estimates should be with the club this week. If all goes well, work on the clubhouse will start in November, assuming planning permission and financial projections are all met.

The Committee were also delighted to inform those in attendance that due to the incredible hard work by Diane Bailey, Kingswood have secured an unbelievable sum of money from CETB (Cory Environmental Trust in Britain) to drastically improve drainage and overall playing conditions on the bottom section. This should mean that the pitches and training area now last throughout the season. A HUGE thank you to Diane for her hard work. This is an example of just how 1 person taking on 1 role within the club and dedicating a little bit of time can make a MASSIVE difference for our club.

And finally, just a quick mention to everyone about our 'Work Force Day' on Saturday 19th July. We need all hands on deck to tackle some much needed maintenance around the clubhouse to get us through another season. The bar will be open to keep everyone refreshed and should enough people attend, a BBQ to keep you all fed. You don’t need to be a Handy Andy, there are lots of things that need doing. So please, bring your drills, screwdrivers, etc and help bring the clubhouse up to scratch.

A big thank you to all those who attended last night. Here's to an amazing 2014/15 season.
