The Secs Report
The ground grading went ok; we have some work to do, to reach the required level for the E grade, but it is not impossible to get done. We need 2 turnstiles, plans are in place to build a block near where our pay box is, and I might have managed to locate 2 for sale. For this season our pay box has to be protected after someone was attacked at a ground. The major project is that we need another 50 seats, to make 150 covered. Most of the other stuff to be done is basically cosmetic. Seats to be labeled in stand for directors. Marking’s round ground to be redone. Front iron work on bottom stand to be painted for observation. One of the concrete bases to floodlights needs marking for observation too. Hard standing needs to be repaired in a couple of places. A few more signs to be put up, marking emergency exits. The gaps between barrier posts will need to be filled in all round the pitch, the blue netting we have put at the bottom end is sufficient, to achieve that. 2 press places are needed with writing facility and lighting; a removable temporary light will do for that. Everything inside the club is ok as expected. A curtain needs to be fitted in Referees room for female officials to change. We have to try to get the ground up to scratch as by the end of season 2012 the FA are reducing step 5 leagues to 12, meaning a loss of about 23 teams, and I don’t want us to be one of them.
