Good Day for Kirkby
A great days work as the 1st team gained 3 points against 5th placed Willington and the 2nds reached the Final of the Hospital Cup
The 1st team got off to a great start as they went 1-0 up inside the first 30 seconds after being gifted an own goal by Willington. A second goal was added after 58 minutes by Rob McDermid and despite some pressure from Willington which forced a couple of late saves from Tim Hodgson, the Moorsiders hung on well to win 2-0 and earn the three points.
The 2nd team travelled to Gillamoor and found themselves 2 goals down but struck back to make it 2-2 and take the game to extra-time. Another goal then saw the Moorsiders win 3-2 to reach the Final.
