Knaphill Ladies Kick-off New Season

Knaphill Ladies have an injury hit squad leading up to their first League match of the season against Garston Ladies, who hail from Watford, next Sunday.
Captian Leanne Sands has failed to recover from a thigh strain and is a doubt for the match. Nichola Marr has an injured hip, Sarah Hale a perforated ear drum, Allie Gilbert a swollen knee, Abbey Garner blistered feet and Cam de Bono a broken toe. We are hoping some of them will be fit to play next Sunday, particularly as Goalkeeper Jenna Morris misses the first 2 league matches as she will be serving a ban after being sent off towards the end of last season.
New signings Lisa and Lucy Miah will be making their League debuts for the club, with Lucy probably deputising in goal.
We still have high hopes of getting a decent result from the match, but it will be a hard game against a team that won Division 1 last season with only 4 league defeats during the entire campaign.
The Ladies have had a tough pre-season and played their last friendly against Westfield Ladies (Premier Division) under the lights at Redding Way last Thursday. In a tough match, Westfield ran out 3-0 winners. The Ladies put in a good performance though despite fielding a weakened team.
Our last pre-season match was played against our Reserve side On Sunday, but in a close fought match which saw Lucy Miah put the Ladies 1-0 up at half time, we had to finish the game early. The Ladies have a night off training tomorrow and will meet up on Wednesday night for a light session and to assess the the squad.
I know the Ladies available on Sunday will give 100% effort and hopefully home advantage will help us start the season with a win.
