5 Star Knappers!

Knaphill returned to winning ways on Tuesday evening with a comfortable 5-0 win over Chertsey Town at Redding Way.

There were glimpses of some of the form from last season as Knaphill cruised past their visitors and had it not been for the display of the Chertsey keeper Jack Ogle the scoreline could of been greater.
Chris Patterson returned to the starting line up having missed the 3-1 defeat at Hartley Wintney on Saturday and Knaphill defensively looked better although Chertsey rarely threated to score.
Jimmy Norman continued his goalscoring form as he put Knaphill in front on 33 minutes when he found the net from the edge of the penalty area. Five later and Knaphill increased their lead when Danny Taylor raced through and although he was taken out by the Chertsey keeper, Taylor managed to get enough on his shot which put Knaphill 2-0 in front.

Seven minutes into the second half and Knaphill went further in front, from Timmy Taylor's corner, Charlie Postance powered a free header past the stranded Chertsey keeper on 52 minutes. Minutes later and Chertsey were down to 10 men, after already picking up a yellow card in the first half defender Ben Geraghty was shown a second yellow for bringing down Danny Taylor.
On 61 minutes the skipper got in on the act, Robbie Kersley picked up the ball from 20 yards out and fired past Ogle in the Chertsey goal to put his side 4-0 in front.
78 minutes Ross Cheek rounded off the scoring when he finished off a fine move to complete a good evenings work from Keith Hills much depleted side.
