With a matchday squad featuring eight players from our U18s we were certainly a very young side.
Leatherhead started very strongly playing a very attacking 4-2-4 formation.
After being under the cosh for the first twenty minutes we managed to get some momentum going forward and started to create some very good chances.
The second half started much the same as the first with Leatherhead having lots of possession but not really making too many clear cut chances.
Around the hour mark we conceded a free-kick about 35 yards out and out on the right.
Unfortunately we conceded a very soft goal which should have been dealt with but it wasn't!
Things soon went even further downhill when we had two goals disallowed, firstly for a foul in their box and the second for a very tight offside decision. Almost immediately after the second, Leatherhead scored a second.
For the last 10 minutes we didn't really do ourselves any justice and seemingly with our heads down we conceded two more goals.
So an opening day 4-0 defeat which was probably a harsh score line but we didn't really deserve anything from the match.
