Reserves Defeated But Proud...

The Reserves dreams of a league and cup double were dashed on Thursday night with a 3-1 defeat to Met Police Reserves in the Suburban League Challenge Cup Final.

Simon Martin's side seemed up against it with some strange decisions from the match referee although Met Police might well of thought the same up until the point where Jacob McDonald was sent off for a second book able offence after only 20 minutes.
Soon after that the Met Police took the lead going into the interval.

The even got worse for the Reserves when George Rowley was harshly adjudged of fouled the Met Police forward and once the questionable referee awarded a penalty which was duly dispatched. Two minutes later and a towering header hit the underside of the crossbar and the Met were 3-0 up.

Credit to The Reserves who battled away but we're dealt a further below when Jack Leighton was sent off for a late tackle and rightly so. However youngster Michael Chapman reduced the deficit, Ashley Hitchinson's effort came back off the cross bar and on another night the chances created by the reserves might off seen a different outcome.
