Niall Attenborrow had Knowle's first effort at goal but his long range effort flew over the bar and didn't trouble the visiting keeper. Redditch thought that they had taken the lead in the 17th minute when a long throw was headed on and stabbed in from close range but the referee ruled it out for an infringement. Luke Fox then had a strong header from a Nathan Corry corner tipped over and Callum Ingram's long range effort drifted just over in the 20th minute. Redditch took the lead a minute later as a ball was played in behind the Knowle defence and Perry Cox was beaten to the ball by their striker who crossed for his teammate Robert Bruce to slot home to the unguarded net. Knowle responded well with Torryn Connelly curling a shot just wide from 25 yards. Then the visiting keeper palmed away Attenborrow's effort from the edge of the box before also thwarting Corry by saving at his feet when running through on goal. However, Redditch extended their lead on the stroke of half time when another long throw was not dealt with by the home defence and bundled home from close range.
In the 54th minute Attenborrow hit the bar from 25 yards and Callum Ingram slotted home the rebound but unfortunately from an offside position. Keegan Woolley then hit a shot just wide from 25 yards. Cox kept the deficit down to two by tipping an effort from the edge of the box over the bar. Then a Knowle corner resulted in a scramble in the box but the ball was saved on the line as it was bundled towards goal. With 15 minutes to go Knowle pulled one back when a free kick was played into Sam Hulme and he played it back to Keegan Woolley who set up brother Reis to slot home from 10 yards. Reis nearly got another a minute later but after good work in the box his shot hit the side netting. Keegan then dribbled around two defenders in the area but with the goal at his mercy pulled his shot wide. As the clock reached 90 minutes Ingram hit a 30 yarder that was tipped onto the bar and out for a corner by the visiting keeper. Knowle's late pressure eventually did tell in the 5th minute of added time when they won a free kick on the edge of the area and Keegan's shot deflected in past the stranded keeper. There was still time for Knowle to come close to winning the game as Hulme hit the side netting from close range after a chip to the back post and Reis dribbled into the area but had his shot well saved before Knowle had loud penalty shouts turned away when Nathan Corry was pulled back in the area after beating his man.
