Knowle breeze past Parkfield 8-1 in Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Cup

After Perry Cox in the Knowle goal had made a smart save to his left to deny Parkfield after 15 mins Knowle took control of the game. On 20 minutes Callum Mallet headed down a Yahida Todd free kick for John Palmer to convert from close range. Then on 28 minutes Tom Craine picked up the ball on the edge of the box and drilled home into the bottom corner with his left foot. 3 minutes later Jack Moss extended the lead with a direct free kick from just outside the left edge of the penalty area to give Knowle a 3-0 half time lead.
Five minutes after the break Knowle added to their lead when the Parkfield keeper denied John Palmer only for the loose ball to land at Craine's feet 6 yards out with the goal open before him. Knowle were the dominant team but had to wait until the 71st minute to extend their lead when Todd's through ball split the home defence and Craine ran through to net his hat-trick. 2 minutes later Craine then returned the complement as Cox threw out quickly to Todd who advanced down the left, played the ball into Craine and picked up a neat return ball to drive into the box and score. 5 minutes later Charlie Evans picked up Palmer's cross field ball to drive into the box and score. However, a clean sheet again evaded Knowle as they were unable to deal with a long ball into defence and the ball was laid off to the Parkfield striker to get a consolation goal for the hosts. Knowle were not yet finished though and Craine got a fourth as he picked up an excellent cross field ball from Torryn Connolly to drive into the box and slot home.

Next Saturday Knowle are away to Coventrians in the Les James Cup.
