After an excellent point blank save from Perry Cox to deny Villa in the 9th minute, Knowle took the game to the visitors and went ahead in the 13th minute. Torryn Connolly held up a flick on by debutant Sam Weighall before setting the ball back for Weighall to split the visiting defence for Nathan Corry to run through and shoot across the keeper into the net. A few minutes later Weighall nearly got on the scoresheet himself when his rifled shot from outside the area was tipped over. Then in the 24th minute Callum Ingram's header was tipped round the post by the visiting keeper and from the resultant corner Ingram forced a fine save with a well hit volley. However, it took until the 37th minute before Knowle could convert their dominance into goals. Ben Ellicott combined with Corry and then his shot from the edge of the area was deflected past the stranded Villa keeper.

Alex Litwinko nearly added to the tally within a minute of the restart but his chip from distance drifted just wide of the far post.. However, Knowle did extend their lead in the 51st minute when Ellicott's through ball was taken in his stride by Dylan Parker and he slid it home past the oncoming keeper. Then Connolly added another when he cut inside and curled one into the top corner from 20 yards.

Cox then made two excellent saves to protect the lead but could not prevent Villa pulling one back direct from a free kick in the 74th minute. They got another one back 8 minutes later when a good move down the left resulted in the ball being swept home after being pulled back from the bye line. However, within a minute Connolly scored the goal of the game as he chased the down a defender near the corner flag, won the ball and advanced to the edge of the area before curing a shot up and over the keeper into the top corner to cap an excellent performance.

The win moves Knowle back into contention for the promotion places and they now turn their attention to the cup with a visit to Enville next Saturday.
