Knowle's first half performance was poor all round and they could have complaints with going behind. Kingshurst were brighter all over the pitch and won most of the challenges before using the ball quickly. Knowle struggled to settle into their shape and looked lacklustre, failing to work hard enough to halt Kingshurst's momentum. Knowle were sloppy with the the limited possession they did have an this led to more pressure heaped upon the defence. With better finishing Kingshurst could have been 3 or 4 goals to the good, however long range attempts flew high and wide and when they did get into the penalty area, Rachel Gibson made a couple of smart saves to thwart them. Knowle gave away a succession of corners and the delivery was dangerous but the home side could not capitalise. Kingshurst did eventually go ahead when a ball down the wing caught Knowle napping. The cross was somewhat scuffed, but the Robins' defence could not make a clearance and the forward was able to roll it into the corner of the net. Knowle's only real chance of the half came after one of their only good passages of play. Sam Smith found Anna-Marie Robinson out wide left and Sarah Moore sprinted past her to receive the ball up the line. Her cross to the back post found Tyla Davison but she hit the volley wide and the half time score was 1-0 to Kingshurst.
The early part of the second half saw more fight from Knowle, but their football was still missing. Kingshurst had several chances, Gibson making another couple of excellent saves and Sarah Jones providing a last ditch tackle. The home side also hit the bar and had a goal disallowed because the striker who buried the rebound from Gibson's save was offside when the inital shot was hit. Steph Hopcroft's combative performance in midfield started to win more possession for Knowle and the introduction of Nicole Butler and Mel Faulker gave the away side fresh legs and impetus. They could not make this count until the last fifteen minutes of the game however, where a succession of chances passed them by. Robinson was sent clear into the box by Hopcroft but a firm tackle stopped her after she skipped clear of the first challenge. Butler found space on the right hand side on a couple of occasions but her cross evaded everyone and on the second occasion her shot flew over the bar. Robinson had time to get on the end of two more chances, she rounded the the keeper well but then was unable to find the right angle for her finish and also hitting a volley wide. Knowle couldn't grab the equaliser and the game finished 1-0; in truth it was only the final 15 minutes performance where Knowle looked likely to get anything and Kingshurst would have been very disappointed not to end up with three points after their dominance of most of the game.
