Knutsford Vets Compete Well

Steve Hope uses his classic style to enter a Vets team into local tournament!

Just to say that I took a Knutsford vets side to Timperleys "lower echelons NW leagues" tournament yesterday.
It was a great afternoon off kids parties, mowing and painting the guttering!

We lost in the semi to Preston, the eventual winners - incidentally if 4 or 5 of their players have ever played leagues 8 or below then I'm Russell Garcia!

Pedders scored the deciding Penalty Shuffle to put us in the semi. Paul Adams goalkeeping was superb, our man of the tournament; he is under 40 of course but as a Veterinary surgeon - I thought that would be fine in the vets team!!

Other highlights were exNW Willy Hamman at right wing, steve Holah commanding at Center mid, and Nick Young after an absence of 18 years looking the class act he always was.
I'll be in his ear for next term; as long as he can walk this morning I think I've got him as my number 9 at least for part of the season.
