Cometh the Welsh team cometh the Welshman, looking forward to his 21st birthday and Wales winning the Grand Slam. Jonah playing from midfield was like a player possesed when it came to scoring. Albeit how you can miss an open goal stood plum centre from 3 yards out is beyond anyones imagination, yet I managed it, hence having to write the match report. Worse fact was that there was quite a batch of spectators at the time too.
May I impress that these goals would not have come about if not for the teamwork that showed on the pitch. Bangor turned up with 9 and no umpire, so they had to start with 8 until half time.
Plain and simple Knutsford passed the ball with aplomb and looked seasoned pro's, triangles everywhere. However the 1st goal was a straight forward el'whacko from ME; short corner, down the middle their keeper (woolly jumper brigade) too slow to get down to stop it. Matt Lynes
welcomed to the 2's slotted in a acute angle second. The 3rd goal was more to the credit of Hicko creating space and freeing Jonah to go around the keeper and slot it home. Looking good, well Bangor managed to pull 2 back. Half time 3-2
2nd half. All of a whirlwind really but credit where credit is due Hicko assisting on most of the goals for the day, cracking game how he didnt get mom no one knows. Put it bluntly Matt Lynes
bagged another Mike Leaning scored a scorcher slap from a mercurious pass from Hicko and I slotted 2 flicked goals and a reverse. I don't need reminding that next week it should be double jug avoidance for the miss in this game, but at my age the back starts playing up, legs start to go and i need the loo 3 times a night. Any more excuses I can use please write in on a postcard.
All in all a great passing game for the 2nd team and a result well deserved, forgotten who got MOM i think it was Mr Lasham but I've probably got that wrong too. Bring on Chester next week then out for a few beers after AGM.
