Club Frequently Asked Questions

When was Ladyhawks born?

July 2009 played host to our first ever AGM where 23 ladies from a mixture of a local social league netball team (The Lion/ Military/ Red Hot Chilli Steppers) and a successful Crewe Back to Netball programme got together with the idea to form a local netball club. At the time we were not aware of anything in existence; we had a need and saw an opportunity to lead the development of our own netball community.

What is Ladyhawks about?

Our main aim is to provide a fun, safe and enjoyable netball experience to all our members. We also hope to inspire those that have an interest in the sport to have the opportunities to have an accessible and transparent pathway to get involved.
We are a group of dedicated volunteers with a shared passion and are motivated by being as successful as we can be both on and off the court.
Adults
Playing opportunities: our club programme is led by Head Coach – Claire Jesson.

1 x Adult Team in Cheshire Elite League
4 x Adult Teams in the South Cheshire Premier Netball League
3 x Junior Teams in Cheshire East Junior League
5 x Junior Teams in Warrington Netball League
Plus a varied number of teams that like to enter tournaments and go on tour throughout the year!

A weekly training session for affiliated club members

What non-playing opportunities are there?

Volunteering is essential to the continued success of our club. We actively look to develop our own club community but would also welcome new faces that might want to get involved. Roles might include scoring for our club at Saturday Elite Matches, taking the register for our coaches at the sessions, supporting the development/management of information on our website, becoming or having opportunities to coach or umpire and coming along and supporting our teams. We have lots of very friendly regular volunteers who who are always looking to get new faces involved.

Juniors

We have an ever-growing group of ‘Juniorhawks’ and ‘Minihawks’ ranging from 6 – 16years old. We have various training sessions for our growing junior section, running on both Monday and Tuesday nights led by qualified coaches. We also encourage our juniors to volunteer and some of whom are actively involved in the England Netball ‘Pass on Your Passion Programme’. For more information about the Junior Programme contact Claire Jesson.

How do I sign up?

Contact us via the website contact form, email (ladyhawks@hotmail.co.uk), phone (07736678801) or by coming down to one of our training sessions on a Monday night (Adults 8pm, Juniors 6pm) at Brine Leas High School, Nantwich, CW5 7DY.
