New Season, New Coach
Ladies team reveal new coach for 2012/2013
The Lakenham-Hewett ladies side will be starting their pre-season training with a new coach at the helm for what will be their 20th season. After winning the RFUW Championship Midlands 2 division last season the Lakenham ladies lost several experienced players to retirment and are looking to rebuild their squad.The 2012/2013 season will see a number of young players from the clubs successful under 18’s section stepping up to the ladies squad to test themselves in senior rugby.
The ladies are pleased to announce that overseeing this transition will be former LHRFC head coach, Phil Sharpe. After leading the ladies team to their highest ever league finish in the 2010/2011 season Phil left to take charge of Diss RFC’s 1st XV and the ECRFU Women’s team where he has enjoyed a very successful first season. Having settled in at Diss Phil is returning to Lakenham and adding the ladies to his stable of teams for the 2012/2013 season.
Pre-season training starts at Hilltops on the 8th August and all are welcome.
