An old cliché rang true at Giant Axe as the pace and energy of City's younger side proved too much for the old veterans of Ossett Town. Goals from Danny Hattersley, Jack Duggan, Zach Clark and Ossett's full back Henson sealed the Dolly Blues' third win in three games.

With an unchanged line up for the third successive game, Lancaster got off to the worst possible start. After an even opening 20 minutes with few chances on a slow dry surface, a long throw in from Ossett Town caused trouble in the City defence. Fearon, halfway from rushing out to collect the ball, stopped and could only watch Duggan's glancing header roll into his own net, despite a last ditch attempt from Neil Marshall on the line.

However, as the rain started to fall and the wet surface began to quicken the tempo of the game, City got a foothold and from then on dominated. On 43 minutes Lancaster finally got a deserved equaliser after an amazing 40 yard weaving run from Alex Meaney who slipped a ball through to Hattersley who deftly lifted the ball over veteran Ossett keeper Dickinson to level it at 1-1 going into the break.

The rain fell heavily in the second half, as did the goals. The goals unfortunately for Ossett were all in Dickinson's Shed End net. City took less than 90 seconds to take the lead as Jack Duggan headed home a free kick from 6 yards between Dickinson's legs in a perfect reply to his role in the first half incident. City then had all the possession but created few chances until the 73rd minute when a Ryan Elderton free kick cross come shot from distance was deflected into the Ossett net by the Town full back Henson to put the game beyond doubt at 3-1.

Ossett Town had some half chances to pull back into the game, but City's defence continued to look impressive as they soaked up all the pressure with Fearon forced to make just one comfortable save. The introductions of Billy McKenna and Lee Dodgson ensured the Dolly Blue's maintained their domination of possession and on 84 minutes the again impressive Zach Clark completed the victory with a brilliant run cutting inside from the right flank before powerfully firing the ball past Dickinson to cap off the most convincing win of the season.

MOTM - Zach Clark. Tireless effort, super runs and a well taken goal.
