Larks bow out

The Larks put in a resilient performance against one of the league's top 4 sides last night, more than matching their hosts for most of the game.

Despite having a hatful of good chances, especially in a 20-minute spell in the first half when we battered Didcot, we couldn't find the net. The home side rallied in the second period and we had to defend robustly to keep the scores level (special mention in this regard should go to Jake Elliott's clearance off the line).

No one likes to lose a cup tie on the lottery that is penalties and it was a cruel way for the Larks' endeavour and commitment to be rewarded. Nevertheless there were many positives to take from the game, including a hardworking performance in midfield from man of the match George King, and an eye-catching debut from new signing Kailan Gould.

Next up for the Larks is a derby v Mangotsfield United at home on Saturday - see you there.

Up the Larks!
