Well done to the boys for a convincing win against Forresters today. The boys scored some good team tries with our handling much improved on our last outing. It sets us up nicely for next week's league decider at Heriots where, if we play to our best, we will have an excellent chance of maintaining our unbeaten record.

Annie's match report is below -

Forresters U15’s 0 Lasswade U15’s 88

On a dreary Sunday morning, after 2 weeks off due to school mid term, Lasswade travelled into Sighthill to play Forresters. The 2 teams hadn’t met for a while so no one knew what to expect! The game kicked off late so the boys were more than ready to get started! Forresters, who have a team consisting of U14 and U15 players this season, won the toss & kicked off towards the clubhouse deep into Lasswade’s half. Lasswade gathered well & shipped the ball to Matthew Duffy who made a strong run from the halfway line to put the first points on the board! Oscar Malone converted.
Forresters came back at the visitors with a great run down the left wing & were unlucky to be put into touch by a determined Lasswade defence! Following a strong Lasswade scrum, some great passing through the backs allowed Martin Jones to run in his first try under the posts which he also converted.
Cameron Watt, Shaun Roach & Paul Wilson were all working well in the rucks & kept the pressure on by driving forward. Foresters won a scrum due to a knock on by the visitors but again our forwards one against the head and as a result drove forward with Roach breaking to dive over the line. Harry Gladstone converted.
Aaron Brennan fought well & his strength paid off making things hard for the home side as was Kieran Lane!
Duffy went on to score his 2nd try with a solo effort, although it was great to see he also had support on his left if he needed it.
Forresters kicked to restart the game, Gladstone gathered well & broke up the wing with Matthew Black on his outside, and he popped the ball out for Black to score a lovely try under the posts! Cammy Bierman converted.
Black broke again but knocked on near the line, Forresters kicked down the park but Malone had his eye on the ball & caught it drove forward escaping tackles until he was eventually brought down, with Jones supporting he got the ball & kicked, after a little football between him & Cammy McVicker, Duffy managed to dive on the ball as it crossed the line for his 3rd try! Another conversion by Gladstone.
Time for another good move by the backs, Malone to Black who looked for Gladstone, Gladstone chipped the ball over the home heads, out ran them to touch it down!
The second half was much the same as the first, but to their credit Forresters didn’t give up & tried to make things difficult for Lasswade. Martin Jones scored another 2 tries, Sam Greens scored one of his trade mark scores by running in from well out & handed off several tacklers & scored under the posts. Gladstone converted.
Scott Muir was the next player to put points on the board; he ran nearly the whole length of the pitch to comfortably score another great try!
Greens made a break up the pitch, Black was on his shoulder in support & ran up the wing and round to score under posts.
From a Forresters scrum, Lasswade drove them over the ball & again Shaun Roach got the ball down across the line. Gladstone converted!
Black again took off down the wing after Bierman drew his man & found Black in support who again ran round & scored under the posts which Bierman converted!
The final points of the day came from a forwards move resulting in Euan Muir getting his first try of the afternoon! The final game score was 88-0 to Lasswade which will register as 50-0 in the league.

Although Lasswade won this comfortably they still need to work on a few things before next weeks game at Goldenacre where they take on the only other unbeaten team in the league - Heriots!
