Celebrating Regional Selection

Warrington and Cheshire Rugby League service area are proud to announce that six players have been selected for the RFL's North West Regional Player Development Squad.
The players were selected from an initial talent identification event after being nominated by the Warrington and Cheshire Rugby League development manager Alan Kilshaw after they excelled on the Warrington and Cheshire development programmes.
Nathan Ainsworth, Jordan Thomason, Charlie Phythian, Reece Brunt,George Moore and Elliott Best have all been selected for the regional programme.
The players will train in two, six-week blocks and have playing opportunities against other regions.
Alan Kilshaw Rugby League development manager said: "All the lads deserve special praise for getting selected for the regional development squad. A lot of time and effort has been put into helping their development as players and people from their community club coaches and from Andy Rigby and his coaching staff at the Warrington and Cheshire player development centres. The lads have been in our systems for a number of years now and it's pleasing that they are showing the attributes and attitudes we are trying to teach them. I am sure they will represent Warrington and Cheshire in a very positive manner during the regional training and playing opportunities."
Warrington Wolves player performance manager Ben Lazenby added: "To have so many Warrington players progress to regional level is outstanding for the game locally and demonstrates the great work going on by the Wolves community coaching team, as well as the coaching these players have received at their amateur club and within the Warrington Wolves elite player development programme. With the right dedication, application and attitude I see no reason why these players can't progress on to bigger and better things in Rugby league and whilst I congratulate them on their achievement I urge them to keep their feet on the ground and continue to work hard. A mention must go to the players' parents and amateur club coaches who work tirelessly to support these young people in achieving their goals."
