The Final Instalment Backs to Reality

The last few weeks have seen me move back out to the fly half position a place that has been commanded by Jake Murphy previously, strange to be playing next door to my childhood rival through mini junior levels. In recent weeks the nine jersey has been worn by the youngest member of ‘The Car’ James Lightfoot Brown. Now foxy is a TV superstar, we all hope finally he can give some stash to the boys.
The outside backs have changed hands a few times Lewis ‘the Rascal’ Patterson on fine song scoring plenty of trys and adding to the pretty pictures on his arm. Richard Friend also has made an impact and constantly keeps the lads fridge stocked with his latest yield of meat.
Arron Struminski has made a massive impact and has a bright future, however the rest of the backs don’t appreciate waiting for both him and Liam Yeo to consume their mid training supplement shake before we can run our moves.
As a back line our confidence has often been outweighed by the dominant pack of forwards so it was great to see some try action for the three quarters, things look Bright........
My last mention goes to Chewie at full back who’s metronomic boot has been the difference between this year and last season. He is one of few players whose trip home from training is a straight forward trip through town. Others must unite in ‘The Car’!!
‘The Car’ differs between different groups each with its many storys, there is the Cornwall car, the lads who skip a feed to get back swiftly to West Cornwall. The Plymouth Car, I can only imagine these are similar to that of the EX car but that I cannot confirm. The coach’s car, a proactive trip home discussing tactics and team selection. Then finally the EX car ,host to the Exeter contingent and has witnessed Ben Turners engaging stories, Naked Thursdays, Ed Lewseys accordion and games of Categories.
Although much of this may have very little relevance to the reader it is clear that there are many different sub plots within the bigger picture........

But it is the big picture that we look forward to contributing towards so lets get behind all the boys for the rest of the season and this unique and talented team can show the rest of the league what their made of............ sorry if I missed anyone
